RLM was established in January 2003 by Glenn Lacey initially to restore, maintain and operate Glenn’s private collection of rare German WW2 aircraft which then consisted of a Bucker Bu181, Fieseler Fi156 A1/C1, Fi156 D0, Focke Wulf Fw44, Fw190D9, Junkers Ju87R4, Klemm35D, Messerschmitt Me108, Me109 and Me208.

With six full time engineers, many spares, original technical drawings, manuals (translated into English by RLM) the company became one of the best in German aircraft restoration, all this in a very short space of time, after putting three aircraft, the Bu181, Fw44 and Klemm35 into the air and carrying out significant restoration on the Fi156 C1 Glenn had to change the direction of RLM in favour of his Technical Aerospace company which needed more of his time.

RLM not only produced quality restorations, the aircraft are a testimony to this, “they” became experts and accumulated a vast wealth of knowledge, information and technical data so the company’s main role for now is that of a “Technical Resource and Consultant Centre” although more restoration work could be done in the future when circumstances permit.
RLM’s belief is that German ingenuity, engineering and Luftwaffe were a formidable force during WW2 the purpose of the company is to do what it can to acknowledge the aircraft of the Luftwaffe and in doing so remember famous designers like Messerschmitt, Heinkel, Bucker, Klemm, Fieseler, Junkers and Tank who will forever be part of Aviation History and to honour the “The Eagles” the Pilots and Crews of the Luftwaffe who fought and in so many cases died doing what we all would do for our country, our duty. They ended up fighting for an evil political regime. The political regime does not need to be remembered “The Eagles” do…..Horrido !! |
